Benjamin Abaioni Abara is a versatile professional with strong strategic acumen and leadership prowess in driving transformative initiatives across public and private sectors. With a solid computer science and information technology background, Benjamin excels in project management, strategic advisory, and digital innovation.
Benjamin’s career highlights include providing strategic guidance to the Edo State Government as a consultant, he also played a pivotal role in the setup and technical support for the $4.5 Million Phase 1 of the Benin Enterprise Park Project, fostering stakeholder engagements and project alignment.
His expertise extends to product design and development, where he led local and international teams in crafting creative strategies for brand promotion and market expansion.
As the Dean of Applied Sciences and Director of Information and Communication Technology at the National Institute of Construction Technology and Management, Benjamin spearheaded various transformative initiatives, playing a pivotal role in driving institutional growth and innovation. He led the establishment of the School of Applied Sciences and facilitated the accreditation of key departments in the institute especially the departments of Computer Science and Statistics. His efforts secured funding for ICT initiatives, including the Tertiary Institution Knowledge Centre funded by the Universal Service Provision Funds (USPF), and drove digital literacy and provision of ICT tools through TETFund ICT Intervention funds.
Benjamin holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Information Technology and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Computer Science as well as other proficiency certificates in project management, UI/UX and cybersecurity.
As a committed professional, Benjamin is a member of the Nigeria Computer Society, the Association of Computing Machinery, and the Institute of Corporate Administration. He holds fellowship status in the Institute of Management Consultants and he is a Chartered Management Consultant.
Beyond his professional endeavours, Benjamin volunteers his time to support educational and community development initiatives, embodying a blend of technical expertise, strategic vision, and a passion for driving positive change in today’s digital landscape.
