1. MESSAGE FROM LEADERSHIP
At Teasoo Consulting Limited, our mission is to enable organisations, governments, and communities to achieve their full potential through sustainable growth and operational excellence. Because we are an ESG advisory and implementation firm, we hold ourselves to the highest global standards. We do not just advise on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) best practices; we embody them.
This Code of Conduct outlines our ethical standards and fundamental principles. It is built upon our core R.I.C.H.E.S values: Respect for People, Integrity and Innovation, Collaboration, Honesty, Excellent Delivery, and Sustainability.
PILLAR 1: BUSINESS INTEGRITY & ETHICS
- Legal Compliance & Countering Corruption
Teasoo Consulting operates a strict zero-tolerance approach to bribery, corruption, and influence peddling. We comply with the Nigerian Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, the Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, as well as international standards such as the UK Bribery Act and US FCPA.
- Employees and partners are strictly prohibited from offering, giving, asking for, or accepting bribes or facilitation payments.
- All business dealings are conducted transparently, fairly, and ethically, with comprehensive due diligence (KYC/KYP) performed on all third parties.
- Safeguarding Information & Property
We respect the privacy of our clients, employees, and partners.
- We comply fully with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023.
- Confidential client information, intellectual property, and personal data are strictly safeguarded utilizing enterprise-grade security protocols (Principle of Least Privilege, mandatory 2FA, and secure Google Workspace environments).
- Responsible Sourcing and Service Delivery
We ensure that the services and products we procure and deliver—whether advisory reports, digital transformations, or field implementation materials (e.g., agricultural inputs for reforestation)—meet the highest quality, safety, and ESG specifications. We prioritise local content and sustainable supply chains.
PILLAR 2: HUMAN RIGHTS & LABOR PRACTICES
Teasoo Consulting is committed to the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, ILO Core Conventions, and IFC Performance Standard 2.
- Freely Agreed Terms of Employment
All personnel operate under written, freely agreed, and fully documented employment contracts that clearly define their responsibilities, compensation, and notice periods in accordance with the Nigerian Labour Act. - Free from Discrimination (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion)
We foster a workplace free from discrimination based on race, gender, religion, age, disability, sexual orientation, or ethnic background. All hiring, compensation, and promotion decisions are strictly merit-based. - Free from Harassment
We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for bullying, harassment, victimisation, or abuse of any kind (physical, verbal, or psychological). - Work is Voluntary
We absolutely prohibit forced labour, bonded labour, and modern slavery. Employees are free to terminate their employment upon providing standard contractual notice. Identity documents are never withheld. - Appropriate Age (No Child Labour)
Teasoo Consulting strictly prohibits child labour. We do not employ any individual under the legal working age (18 years), nor do we engage vendors who utilise child labour in their operations. - Fair Wages
We ensure all employees are compensated fairly, equitably, and competitively. Wages meet or exceed the national minimum wage, and staff receive appropriate statutory benefits (Pension, Health Insurance, Employee Compensation). - Reasonable Working Hours
We respect statutory limits on working hours and actively support work-life balance to protect the mental well-being of our staff. Employees are provided with appropriate rest periods, public holidays, and annual leave (21 working days). - Freedom of Association
We respect the right of employees to join, form, or not join trade unions and to engage in collective bargaining without fear of reprisal, intimidation, or discrimination. - Health & Safety (HSE)
We provide a safe, healthy, and ergonomic working environment.
- Through our SNIC-R Protocol, every employee has the unconditional authority to “Stop Work” if they perceive a threat to their physical safety or mental well-being.
- We enforce strict journey management protocols (including a No Night Travel policy) and a zero-tolerance “Fit for Work” substance abuse policy.
- Grievance Mechanisms
We encourage an open, “Speak Up” culture. We maintain confidential internal and external grievance mechanisms (including the ethics@teasooconsulting.com channel) where employees and community stakeholders can report concerns without fear of retaliation. - Land Rights
Given our involvement in nature-based solutions and social impact projects, we strictly respect the property and traditional land rights of local communities and indigenous peoples. We apply the principles of Free, Prior, and Informed Consent (FPIC) before executing any field implementation or reforestation projects (e.g., Tree4Life).
PILLAR 3: PLANET (ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY)
- Protect and Regenerate Nature
Through our Sustainability and ESG Practice, protecting biodiversity is core to our business. We actively design and implement reforestation, afforestation, and ecosystem restoration programs (e.g., the Tree4Life portfolio) that protect natural habitats and promote sustainable land use. - Climate Action
We are committed to decarbonization. We continually monitor and aim to reduce our Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions by prioritising digital/virtual engagements over physical travel, utilising energy-efficient office practices, and advising our clients on net-zero pathways. - Waste-Free World
We promote a circular economy internally and externally. We enforce a “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” policy within our corporate operations, actively discourage single-use plastics, and ensure the responsible disposal of e-waste through certified digital offboarding processes.
COMPLIANCE AND ENFORCEMENT
All Teasoo Consulting employees, partners, and vendors must adhere to this Code of Conduct. Any breach of these principles is considered a serious disciplinary offence and may result in termination of employment or contract and potential legal action.
